Jason Taylor: Miami’s Santa Claus #StoryTimeWithArmstrong

By Anthony Armstrong People often ask if I miss playing ball.  My answer is always the same. “Playing, yes.  The business side of it, not so much.” One of the biggest things I do miss is the camaraderie inside the locker room…and the crazy situations that can play out there.   My first “real” NFL locker room was with the Dolphins in ‘08.  The team had big names, big personalities, and plenty of roster moves.  Guys would come in for two weeks and then be let go for another Band-Aid until the problem was fixed.   Promo Code “Prostyle Podcast” Of all the guys at the Dolphins facility, one guy …

The Wildest Season #StoryTimeWithArmstrong

By Anthony Armstrong The 2012 NFL season had a lot on the line. I was coming off a disappointing 2011 campaign in which my head coach suggested I get into coaching if I can’t get off of press coverage…I’m paraphrasing, but you get it.  I had a lot to prove, but ended up getting cut.  I couldn’t break my lease, so I just had to pay rent in a place I wasn’t going to be staying. When I first arrived at the Dolphins’ HQ at Nova Southeastern it was apparent who had money and who didn’t.  I rode up in a 16-passenger van driven by some interns and the …

The Road Never Taken #StoryTimeWithArmstrong

By Anthony Armstrong Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I made my own path through the trees and mud, and that has made all the difference.  That’s my rendition of Robert Frost’s classic poem, The Road Not Taken, and it’s the best way to describe my journey to the NFL. Nothing about my path to the league was normal, and it was more like a storyline from a movie.  I’ll save you most of the details, but my first city league squad was the Cowboys, I wore 22 and was a killer running toss right.  Just a skinny kid with some speed.   Fast forward to my senior season at West Texas …
